You will board the ship in Arnhem and will be brought back from Passau on the last day by comfortable coach.

Sunday 9 June: Arnhem - Cologne

You are most welcome on board from 16:00. During dinner we will cast off and leave Arnhem behind us. You can get to know your fellow passengers in the lounge during the evening while we sail gently on towards Cologne.

Monday 10 June: Cologne - Mainz

The silhouettes of the high towers on the Cologne Dom Cathedral soon come into sight. We will moor in Cologne during lunch so you can visit this fascinating city. The oldest and most famous building in Mainz is the Dom, a Romanesque cathedral built of red sandstone. At the end of the afternoon we continue our journey and leave the Rhine for the Main. It won’t be long before the imposing Frankfurt skyline comes into view.

Wednesday 12 June: Frankfurt - Miltenberg

Where the first stretch of the river was somewhat dominated by industry, now the Main is surrounded by the Odenwald Forest and the ‘Spessartgebergte’ mountain range. We will arrive in Miltenberg, the Gem of the Main during the afternoon. From the old market place filled with half-timbered houses you can walk through the Schnatterturm tower and into the woods.

Nuremberg is located mid-way along the Main-Danube Canal. To get a good impression of this city you can make use of the free bus transfer for the short ride to the centre. Enjoy the culinary highlights in a town which has a centuries’ old tradition of beer, sausages and pepper cake. On our way to Berching we will pass the highest navigable point by ship in Europe. We are in fact sailing over a mountain, helped by some imposing locks.

Tuesday 18 June: Berching - Kelheim

By the time the Michelsberg hill with the Befreiungshalle monument comes into view on the horizon, we have almost arrived in Kelheim. This is the end of the Main-Danube Canal and we are now on the much sung about Blue Danube.

Wednesday 19 June: Kelheim - Regensburg - Passau

It’s another three hours’ sailing to Regensburg. This ancient city is also known as the ‘Metropolis of the Middle Ages’. Nowhere else in Germany will you find so many well-preserved listed buildings.
