Wednesday 11 July:
Arnhem - Roermond
You are welcome on board from 16:00. We’ll be expecting you in the restaurant early in the evening where a welcome dinner will be served. Meanwhile we’ll weigh anchor and set sail for Roermond. After dinner the musician will ensure an enjoyable evening in the lounge.
Thursday 12 July:
While you’re enjoying breakfast we’ll reach the River Maas in the Dutch province of Limburg. At around midday we’ll arrive at our destination, Roermond. This attractive town, often called the ‘Beating Heart of Limburg’ is rich in cultural sights. Roermond has a lively shopping centre and a unique position on the Maas lakes. The town centre with its lovely squares contains a wealth of historic buildings, including churches and old merchants’ houses. Or you can go to the nearby outlet centre.
Friday 13 July:
Roermond - Maastricht
We leave Roermond early in the morning and sail to Maastricht. There’s plenty to experience in Maastricht including various museums, treasures, art galleries and theatres. The centre abounds in monuments, such as stately old houses, convents, centuries’ old city walls with towers and ingenious underground defence works. You should also not miss the St Servatius Church, the shopping streets and the lively pavement cafes on the Vrijthof square during your visit. Back on board we will serve you a delicious slice of Limburg vlaai (flan)!
Saturday 14 July:
Maastricht - Hasselt
We sail along the Albert Canal to Hasselt in Belgium, where we will moor early in the afternoon. This town has the nickname ‘Capital of Taste’ thanks to its many catering and fashion outlets. Did you know that Hasselt and jenever (juniper gin) are inseparable? There is a Jenever Museum in the middle of the town that is certainly worth visiting.
Sunday 15 July:
Hasselt - Antwerp
We continue our journey along the Albert Canal to Antwerp where we will arrive early in the evening. Antwerp is a lively city and the centre is compact and mostly pedestrianised, so it’s an ideal place to explore on foot. Antwerp’s focal point is the Grote Markt market place with the towering Cathedral of Our Lady on the corner.
Monday 16 July:
Antwerp - Willemstad
During a short tour(*) in the morning you will see Antwerp’s most beautiful parts, after which you will have the chance to explore the city by yourself. We leave Antwerp early in the afternoon and set sail for Willemstad where we stay overnight.
Tuesday 17 July:
Willemstad - Wijk bij Duurstede
Today we’ll have another pleasant day sailing through the Dutch countryside. During the afternoon we will reach Wijk bij Duurstede, an attractive town on the River Lek where you can walk into the town from the harbour. In the evening you are invited to the Farewell Dinner.
Wednesday 18 July:
