Arnhem - Krefeld
We weigh anchor at 09:30 and depart from Arnhem. We’ll soon cross the German border and sail upstream along the Rhine to Krefeld, where we will arrive during dinner.
Krefeld - Cologne
We set sail for Cologne where you’ll have the whole afternoon to visit the city. The Cologne Dom (Cathedral) is famous throughout the world. There are wonderful shopping streets around this imposing cathedral and numerous sights such as the 4711 Perfumery and the Chocolate Museum located beside the Rhine. You can also take part in a city tour(*) around Cologne.
Cologne - Andernach
We leave Cologne behind and sail into Andernach at around lunchtime. You will find many remains of this former Celtic settlement in the lively centre behind the city walls, parts of which are still intact. This afternoon you can take part in a lovely coach excursion to the beautiful Ahr Valley(*).
Andernach - Rüdesheim - Mainz
It’s for a good reason that the part of the Rhine we are sailing on today is known as the Romantic Rhine. The many fortresses and castles beside the river and the narrow passage close to the Lorelei ensure fantastic views. Rüdesheim is a popular tourist town and has everything to offer. You can visit Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett(*) or take the cable car to the viewing point above the town. There are many lively Weinstuben in the Drosselgasse alleyway. We will sail on towards Mainz where we stay overnight.
Mainz - Boppard
You can visit the town centre with its many historic buildings and monuments in the morning. The oldest and best known building is the Mainz Dom (Cathedral). In the afternoon you can take part in a free excursion to the university city of Heidelberg. We will sail on towards Boppard during dinner and during the course of the evening we will once again pass the Lorelei.
Boppard - Düsseldorf
You will have plenty of time this morning to visit the attractive centre of Boppard. In the afternoon we’ll sail downstream to Düsseldorf. After dinner you can go for a walk through the Altstadt, Düsseldorf’s historic centre, where you will find narrow lanes with lovely shops and a large number of pavement cafes. On the holiday that departs on 21 May there will be Japanese fireworks this evening in Düsseldorf.
Düsseldorf - Arnhem
The last day of the holiday has sadly arrived. We’ll be back in Arnhem at 14:00 and will take our leave of you!
